This list contains the smallest number of animals. In wildlife, there are less than 30 animals whose names begin with the letter Q.
You probably expect to find a Quoll in this list, but it is not here because we use species names rather than a group or common names. The term “quoll” refers to six species of marsupials in the genus Dasyurus. These are the Tiger quoll, the Western quoll, the Eastern quoll, the Northern quoll, the Bronze quoll, and the New Guinean quoll. None of these species’ English names start with the letter “Q” so they are not included in this list.
For the same reason, a Quail is missing here. The term “quail” refers to several genera of mid-sized birds generally placed in the order Galliformes. There are many quail species exist and none of them have common English names that would start with the letter “Q”.
Since it is confusing sometimes we made a list of popular animal names starting with the letter “Q”. Here it is: Quokka, Quagga, Quailfinch, Quetzal, Queen Snake, Quelea, Quail, Quoll.
