Wildlife of USA

Alaska is a true winter kingdom with extreme Arctic conditions, inhabited by animals that thrive in harsh frosts. The most famous of these are polar bears, which are among the strongest predators on the planet and perfectly adapted to Alaska's severe cold climate.  Walruses and seals, in turn, are the masters of the icy waters, feeling right at home under the ice cover. Grizzly bears also love the cold climate, which they skillfully endure thanks to a thick layer of fat.

The Rocky Mountains and dense forests, spanning several states, provide an ideal home for the largest members of the deer family – moose. This climate is also favored by graceful wild cougars, which can often be seen at high altitudes in the mountain ranges. Bighorn sheep are hoofed animals known for their love of mountain peaks.

Arizona and New Mexico, as well as other southwestern states, are famous for their vast deserts, which serve as an ideal home for the well-known and dangerous rattlesnakes, as well as swift and aggressive coyotes. The small cactus owls are modest desert dwellers that like to find shelter in the trunks of cacti.

Florida is known for its humid climate, rich with various swamps where American alligators love to rest. These reptiles are among the largest of their kind. Manatees, also known as sea cows, are also fans of the warm, hot climate. The Florida panther is another resident of the state, a rare type of cougar that is currently endangered.

The coasts of the  Atlantic and  Pacific Oceans are areas rich in unique wildlife. All the known ocean inhabitants represent only about 3% of what actually lives in these waters. Dolphins are the friendliest ocean dwellers and can often be seen in many aquatic shows. Gray whales, which enjoy migrating along the coasts of California, are among the most well-known marine mammals. Orcas, powerful ocean predators, are frequently found near the western coast of the United States.
