The Hispaniolan emerald (Riccordia swainsonii ) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.
It is endemic to Hispaniola (the Dominican Republic and Haiti) in the Caribbean. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest.
