They are the first in the family of Fox terriers, which received official recognition already in 1875. The breed began to emerge around the 18th century, their ancestors were black terriers (today they are considered extinct), in addition, the blood of a bull terrier and a beagle slips through the DNA of a Fox Terrier. In the 18th and 19th centuries, dogs of this breed were widely used by hunters for hunting foxes, which can be understood from their names. The American Kennel Club recognized the Fox Terrier in 1885, but the standard was not recognized until a year later.

Representatives of this breed have a very open and friendly character, Fox Terriers are unlikely to become aggressive towards people or dogs, especially if there is no good reason for this. Fox Terriers are always kind to strangers, even if they see them for the first time, these dogs will always seek to make friends or find a common language. These dogs have a very high energy level, so be prepared to spend most of their time outside with active play and entertainment. Fox Terriers can sometimes be independent but are generally very intelligent. These dogs have strong hunting instincts, so Fox Terriers should be introduced to cats from early childhood. The basis of a natural diet should include meat or meat offal, preferably chicken or turkey, and sometimes add deboned sea fish to the diet. Dry fodder must be of high quality, no less than premium quality. And be sure to add a vitamin-mineral complex to the natural diet. And also make sure that the Fox Terriers always have water.

Short-haired dogs require minimal care, it will be enough to brush them once a week, in principle, as well as bathe them. Special attention should be paid to the eyes and ears of the Fox Terriers.
