Temperament

Traditional Persian cats are renowned for their calm and docile nature, often seen enjoying leisurely naps. Their affectionate demeanor makes them thrive on human attention, seeking the companionship of their owners. Preferring a tranquil environment, they are not well suited to homes with noisy children or overly playful dogs. Despite their lack of energy, traditional Persian cats do engage in occasional playtime. Known for their reserved nature, they are generally quiet and reserved in their vocalizations.

Traditional Persian cats do have some specific dietary needs due to their unique physical characteristics. Their flat faces can make it difficult for them to pick up and chew certain types of food, so it's important to provide them with small, easily chewable pieces. Additionally, their long, thick fur can make them prone to hairballs, so incorporating fiber-rich foods or hairball control formulas into their diet may be beneficial. It's also important to monitor their weight and adjust their food intake accordingly to prevent obesity, which is a common issue among Persian cats. Overall, it's best to consult with a veterinarian to determine the specific dietary needs of your Persian cat.
Traditional Persian cats require regular brushing to keep their coat in good condition. Additionally, it is important to clean your cat's ears, brush its teeth regularly, and trim its nails as needed.

In contrast to some other Persian Cats, the Traditional Persian variety is known for its relatively good health. Their normal-length noses help them avoid many of the health issues commonly associated with Persian cats. However, they are still susceptible to certain conditions such as polycystic kidney disease, progressive retinal atrophy leading to vision loss, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
