The rufous-faced crake (Laterallus xenopterus ) is a species of bird in the family Rallidae.It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay; its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland.It is threatened by habitat loss. The rufous-faced crake is described as having bold black and white bars on the upper wing, a reddish brown head/nape, and black and white under tail-coverts. They also have crimson-red eyes and a short deep bill.
