Maine Coon
The Maine Coon is a breed of domestic cat native to the state of Maine in the United States, where it is the official state cat. The Maine Coon is also the oldest North American natural breed. Due to its affectionate temperament, the Maine Coon is often referred to as a "dog cat", and because of its nature and size, it is also known as "the gentle giant". Along with the Norwegian Forest Cat and the Siberian Cat, the Maine Coon belongs to the group of so-called forest cats, which are natural breeds. Today, Maine Coon cats are very popular and are bred in many countries around the world.
